Rejoice In The Lord Always
When Paul was in prison because he was a follower of Jesus, he wrote a short letter. In it he mentioned rejoicing nine times. Near the end of the letter he instructed readers, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, Rejoice."
This Sunday at 9:30 a.m. we will look at this passage in Philippians 4 and discuss ways to rejoice even if you are in some kind of prison, and why it is beneficial to rejoice.

About the Pastor. Pastor Mark has been pastor of La Jolla Lutheran for 15 years. He is the author of How To Pray For Healing (and what to do if nothing happens). In June we focused on praying for Mexico. The recession and the drop in tourism have impacted Mexico's economy. Drug violence has killed more than 22,000 people in four years. People in the government, military, police and judicial system are being targeted. (The need is ongoing; on June 28, the leading candidate for govenor of Tamaulipas was assassinated.) Add to that the impacts of the Easter earthquake and the Gulf oil spill and it's clear that Mexico needs God's intervention and our prayers. Fortunately, God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine. Thank you for continuing to hold Mexico in your prayers. La Jolla Lutheran Church is 14 miles north of downtown San Diego.
