Charlie, a member of La Jolla Lutheran Church in San Diego, CA Charlie: I took a couple of summers to read the Bible. I certainly didn't expect anything to happen. I was moved to finally acknowledge that Jesus had given his life for me. My life has never been the same since.

Jesus is the Lord of the universe, but he's right here and he wants to hold you, he wants to carry you if you need carrying. He wants to hold your hand and walk with you, if you need that. He's a friend.

Leslie, a member of La Jolla Luthean Church in San Diego, CALeslie: I like the high liturgical service. It surprised me that it was so appealing to someone that hadn't had much experience with church, but I like that. I love the music here. I love the people. It really is a family.

For everyone who's just moved to La Jolla, my advice would be to find a home church. It make take a little confidence to do that, but it is well worth it.

We have lots of love for all the people here, for Pastor Mark who is special and totally in touch with the Holy Spirit, and we're just blessed to be here.

I do enjoy the programs at church and I enjoy the people and the pastor.

I never probably stopped to think about why or how I feel about Jesus in my life, except I know he's always there for all of my life, and with my family and with my children, so there's just no other way that it should be.

I come here because I enjoy the fellowship, the family that I have made here within this church, along with my DNA family.

How it brings me closer to Jesus is just that it reminds me, every Sunday, whenever I think about church, I think about my relationship with Him and that He is a loving and kind God.
